Sleep Shattered Night

In the grey solitude of that long sleep shattered night

the miserable, silent shining black dog with deep pond pool dark eyes

fixes his crunching jaws on the sad weak bones in the base of my spine

All I want is the warmth of that pretty blonde smiling cabin crew friendliness who would quietly laugh and slowly close her eyes

as I slide my hand on her silky black stockinged thighs

The birds begin to call their welcome back to the day

The light faintly breaks on the tilting roofs

The searing hot shower washes away the grit of the night

I shake out the leather leash, prise open the jaws of the black dog

and lead the sullen, silent animal back to my office chair
